We also can’t talk about 4th of July without talking about summer, and you can’t talk about summer without talking about fruit, right? We’ve got a number of recipes here that are full of our favorites, like our strawberry shortcake cookies, our cherry chocolate chip cookies, our blueberry cream cheese cookies, and our cherry Bakewell cookies. Watch out- they might just take the attention away from the fireworks. Our s’mores stuffed cookies, our brookies, our i nside-out red velvet cookies, and our monster cookies are exploding with added goodness.

We’ve got some cookie bars that are especially simple (serve ‘em right out of the pan you baked them in!), a spectacular s'mores cookie cooked in a skillet, and some stuffed cookies and cookie/other dessert mash-ups that your friends and family won’t see coming.

When it comes to sharing desserts, you want things that are easily portable and impressive enough to charm the crowd. Throwing a BBQ, and forgot about dessert? Heading to a potluck, and don’t know what to bring? Want to wow at your picnic, but don’t want to lug around a cake or pie? We’ve got the answer for you- cookies! There’s nothing more all-American than a cookie, and these 21 recipes are the perfect sweet treats for sharing (or not, no judgment!) this 4th of July. Nutrition (per serving): 175 calories, 2 g protein, 20 g carbohydrates. Space cookies about 3" apart on prepared baking sheet. Gently roll the filled dough into a ball. Bring the edges of the dough around the filling and pinch the edges together to seal.

This is the easy part! Take a heaping tablespoon of the cookie dough and flatten it into a pancake-like circle with your hands. If you want to play it safe, start with about half of what the recipe calls for and work up. Depending on the food coloring you're using, it might have more pigment (like a gel food coloring), making for a more concentrated color. If you want them to have a less intense color, start with 1/2 teaspoon and then add more as you mix up the dough. We like a bold red color for these cookies, so we don't skimp on the food coloring with a full tablespoon. How do I make sure to get the red color just right? This is a soft cake-like cookie that's made of all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and red food coloring. Make the mixture and then prep your dough. It's just cream cheese, (make sure it's at room temperature for easy mixing), a little powdered sugar, and a pinch of salt. These cookies get stuffed with a three-ingredient cream cheese filling that tastes similar to cheesecake. Stuffed cookies might sound a little fancier than regular cookies, but it doesn't mean they're fussy. These are the one of the most festive Christmas cookies you can add to your cookie swap spread.

Naturally, we had to make a stuffed red velvet cookie and we are soooo happy we did.

The bits of white chocolate make these cookies almost addictively good. We love a good stuffed cookie and we're obviously obsessed with all things red velvet. Red Velvet Cookies bake up with a crinkly exterior and moist chewy center.
